PNG is lossless, so it can't be shrunk to a target size by lowering quality. Switch to JPEG or WebP, or use the quality slider instead.

Method
Compression
Rasterize re-renders each page as a compressed image and rebuilds the PDF — it shrinks the most, but text stops being selectable/searchable, so quality depends on the level you pick. Bumping the level up (or targeting a larger size) preserves noticeably more detail. Optimize only keeps every page as real, sharp vector text and just rebuilds the file's internal structure more efficiently — savings are smaller, but there's zero quality loss, so it's the better choice for text documents that just look a little blurry after compression.

How to split
"Extract a range" pulls the pages you list out into a single new PDF. "Every page separately" saves each page of the document as its own PDF file.

This is the one tool here that isn't fully offline: the first time you use it, your browser downloads a small AI segmentation model (roughly 40MB, cached afterwards) from IMG.LY's CDN. Your photos themselves are still never uploaded — only the model comes down, and the image processing happens on your device.
Works best on photos with a clear subject (people, products, animals). Fine detail like flyaway hair or busy edges may come out a little rougher than a manual cutout.
